CARBAMATES
  • Closely related to organo phosphates and are anticholinesterase but unlike organo phosphates appear to cause a spontaneously reversible block on enzyme acetylcholinesterase (Ach E) with out changing it
  • Examples: Carbaryl , propoxur , Fenoxycarb
  • Carbaryl and propoxur  have low mammalian toxicity,Carcinogenic?
  • Fenoxycarb acts as IGR, prevents emrbryonic development in flea egg, larval development and adult emergence
