  • A pair of distally armed mandibles
  • A pair of stout maxillae armed with recurved teeth at the tips
  • Labrum epipharynx, Slender hypopharynx
  • Labium with two small terminal labella
  • Four jointed palps which is very short and about one third the length of the proboscis
  • Transmits: Fowl spirochaetosis, Fowl malaria, Dirofilaria immitis and Dipetolonema reconditum in dogs
