CONVENTIONAL SYSTEM

  • In the conventional system, the roughages are groups-fed and concentrates are closely rational on an individual basis depending on their requirements calculated on the basis of body weight , milk yield, milk fat percentage, pregnancy and growth.
  • On the other hand, in the complete feeding system, the uniform mixture of concentrate and roughage ingredients is group-fed, often ad libitum. In that system, uniform mixture of concentrate and roughage ingredients is group-fed, often ad libitum. In that system, the ingredients are processed and presented usually in the pellet form. Therefore the cows will have to eat what they are offered. Due to this, the composition of intake is uniform.
  • The feed is available to the animal round the clock and they can eat little and often, but as much as they like.
