Testis (View image)

  • Observe thick fibrous capsule tunica albuginea. Interstitial tissue shows Leydig cells
  • The various shaped cross sectional profiles of seminiferous tubules are lined by sertoli and spermatogonic cells
  • The heads of spermatozoa are embedded in the cytoplasm of Sertoli cells. Clear lumen is evident in tubules

Ovary (View image)

  • Observe tunica albuginea, peripheral cortex and central medulla
  • In cortex various stages of developing oocytes are present
  • Medulla is highly vascular and number of nerve fibres are observed

Uterus (View image)

  • Observe the endometrium with uterine glands, myometrium (stratum vasculare inbetween two layers of smooth muscles) and perimetrium
