  • It is surrounded by connective tissue capsule, which sends trabeculae into the node. The parenchyma shows cortex and medulla
  • Underneath the capsule there is a subcapsular sinus which extends along trabecula as trabecular sinus
  • Cortex shows lymphatic nodules with lightly stained germinal centers and diffuse lymphatic tissue
  • The medulla shows anastomosing cords of lymphatic tissue surrounded by medullary sinuses
