MALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM

The male reproductive tract developed from the wolffian duct and body or mesonephric tubules.

  • The male reproductive organs consist of two testes which are present in the scrotum , ducts, accessory sex glands , penis and prepuce.
  • The testis produces spermatozoa and the male sex hormone (androgens).
  • The scrotum helps in maintaining optimum temperature for the spermatozoa production.
  • The other structures help in transport of semen from site of production to the site of deposition ie. Vagina
