The Turkish angora

THE TURKISH ANGORA

  • The Turkish Angoras were originally known as Ankara cats because the breed originated in the province of Ankara, Turkey.
  • They probably share the same distant ancestors as the Persian but developed from a different breeding population.
  • This breed is considered polite, intelligent, and responsive.
  • It is easily trained to retrieve and perform tricks.
  • The Turkish Angora is a small-to medium-sized cat with a long, slender, graceful trunk on a light frame. The ears are large and erect.
  • The breed was originally bred only in white, but many colours and patterns exist today.
  • The fur is medium in length and silky.
  • The breed lacks the thick underfur.
  • The eyes are large, almond-shaped, and show radiant, deep colour.
