7.1.3 Structure of Nucleic acids

 

DNA and RNA are polymers of nucleotides composed of nitrogenous bases, sugars, and phosphoric acid thus,

  

 (        Base —Sugar —  Phosphate )n      Where n is a large number  

                     nucleic acid              

 They serve as monomeric precursors of RNA and DNA. The link between the polymer units is the phosphate diester bond.
