7.5.1.5 Post-Translation Processing
Some modification of proteins usually occurs after translation. For example, most proteins do not have Met(the initiation codon) as their first amino acid. Cleavage of N-terminal Met is post-translation processing. Formation of S-S bonds between cysteine units is another example of post-translation processing. |
