7.1.6.Direct culture of the infectious agents and identification

Aseptically collected samples of tissues are used for the isolation and culture of aetiological agents such as bacteria, fungi or viruses using appropriate culture techniques. Using standard biophysical characteristics, biochemical tests, immunological or nucleic acid based diagnostic techniques these pathogen can be identified.
