Soil and climate

    • The tree grows on a wide range of soils, deep clay loam or silt loam with good drainage is suitable.
    • Sandy alluvial soils are unsuitable.
    • The fruit tree requires a tropical climate with high humidity, high temperature and abundant rainfall, shade environment is required during early growth stage.
    • It cannot tolerate temperature below 50C or above 380C.
    • It grows up to an elevation of 1500m above mean sea level.
