Intercrop, Nutrition and Irrigation
Inter crops: During pre-bearing period – it is preferred to grow some of the annual fruits, vegetables and leguminous crops.
Nutrition: Being a leguminous tree, may not require nitrogenous fertilizer. However, P & K application might prove advantageous. Application of compost/FYM at 40-50 kg / tree / year would suffice the most need of nutrients. Irrigation: Once the plant has established it hardly needs any irrigation. However, water harvesting in rhizosphere during rainy season would be advantageous. |
