Electronic media

The electronic media offers the following opportunities.

  1. Media Research: Media researchers investigate and collect information relating to the proposed programme. They also find out the impact of particular programme on a target audience.
  2. Script/Screen Play Writing: Radio programme requires script and television programme requires screenplay writing. Both require special approach. Script writers are appointed separately by either producer or director. Presenter does the scripting or screenplay writing.
  3. Programme Production: Programme production is done under the producer guidance, who divides the theme of the programme, conceptualizes the programme, selects artists, decides the format and translates into a programming suitable for radio or television as the case may be for producing a programme. Producer should know the nature of the medium they are working for.
  4. Announcing: Announcers make announcements or presentation of scripts for special programmes. As they become experienced, they can enter into interviewing, programmers, narration or commentaries for documentaries and features.
  5. News Reading: Both news reading and announcing require a voice suited for broadcasting, correct pronunciation and access knowledge of regional language and for TV, a pleasant personality.
