Lesson 08 :Furnishings in interiors

Introduction

Furnishings are an integral part of the interiors as they contribute a lot to create aesthetically pleasing environments and comfort for the inmates. In most professional design practice, the components that are not architectural or that are not strictly furniture, are referred to as furnishings. So, furnishings include functional and decorative accessories, portable lighting, paintings and sculpture, various types of window treatments and floor coverings used for decorating and beautifying our homes. So, it also includes a wide range of furnishing fabrics like curtains, draperies, rugs, carpets, durries, placemats, cushions and cushion covers, table covers, bed spreads, hand towels bath linen and much more.
