Purpose of using curtains and draperies

Curtains and draperies are the conventional ways to decorate the doors and windows. In all curtains and draperies are categorized under "Soft window treatments". Curtains and draperies are used for a number of reasons. In general, they serve the following purposes

• Control light, air and view
• Add a feeling of warmth to the room
• Lend softness to the atmosphere
• Reduce noise in some areas
• Can create illusions in terms of length, breadth and height
• Add to the aesthetic appearance of a room.
• Add color, texture, pattern, style, mood and personality to a room.
• Give a theme to a room
