Oblique Drawings

  • Oblique drawings are those in which one face of the object is parallel to the picture plane and projections from the object are oblique and not perpendicular to the picture plane.
  • The view point is not only higher than the object, but it is to the left or right of center of the object.
  • Edge lines along each axis are parallel to each other. (Figure – 2)
  • Oblique drawings are the fastest and easiest drawings to produce that show all three dimensions in one view, but are not very realistic.
