Axonometric Drawings

  • Axonometric drawings are those in which none of the objects faces are parallel to the picture plane and projections from the object are perpendicular to the picture plane. (Figure – 3 )
  • The view point is higher than the object, or the object is tipped towards the viewer.
  • Edge lines along each axis are parallel to each other.
  • Like oblique drawings, axonometric drawings can show all three dimensions or axes in one view.
  • They are a more difficult to produce than oblique drawings but are closer to actual view
