• Madras Veterinary College Teaching hospital runs with following objectives
• To provide the best clinical service to sick animals day and night with in-patient facilities and to develop Ambulatory Clinic and Large animal ambulance facilities.
• To provide adequate infrastructure facilities for diagnosis and treatment of sick animals and to ensure composite and better clinical teaching and training for undergraduate and post-graduate students.
• To utilize the abundant clinical material available for co-ordination of research projects with the clinical departments and to publish research papers and popular articles for the benefit of the farmers.
• To provide separate technical staff for looking after administration, maintenance and upkeep of the different units of the clinics so that the teaching staff can devote more time for teaching and research
• To maintain records of particulars of cases treated and to monitor and forecast the incidence and course of different disease based on records.
