Meaning & Importance of Assessment

Infant tests measure the developmental progress of babies and children focusing on areas such as gross motor, fine motor, language development, adaptive behavior and personal social behaviours, sensory motor intelligence and so on and these areas can be assessed through play.

Assessment is the process of gathering information about children from several forms of evidence, then organizing and interpreting that information.(McAfee, Leong, & Bodrova, 2004)
