Policies, Procedures and Rules

Policies in the center, agency or school will generally be established by the Policy Board after careful and thoughtful deliberation. Written policies, procedures, and rules aid consistent and timely decision making and discourage decisions being made without sufficient information. Frequently centers develop policy booklets that are made available to the board, staff, parents, and others. Sample policy statements follow:

  1. Center named Spurthy will admit children ages from one year to three and half years based on first-come, first-served basis.
  2. Center named Spurthy accepts all children, parents and employees on a nondiscriminatory basis without regard to caste, occupation, socioeconomic status etc.
  3. Center named Spurthy hires only trained teachers in early childhood education.
Procedures specify how to handling certain tasks. Procedures relating to the policies previously stated are:
  4. In March of each year the center Spurthy will provide information to parents whose children are enrolled and to the community at large starting that enrollments for the forth coming academic year are open. Current enrollees receive automatic admission if the parent requests and pays the enrollment fee for the continuation of the child in the same school for next class that is from creche to nursery. New children are considered admitted when the enrollment papers have been signed and the enrollment fee paid. Admissions are processed in the order they are received in the center’s office.

Rules state particular detail regarding a procedure or how it is carried out. Example: the manager is expected to personally check the potential teacher’s certificate to be sure that it is valid and of the type specified.
