Lesson 20 : Project proposal

Introduction

Making proposals for funding various activities of child care center can be simple or complex depending on the amount requested, the funding agency and the accounting requirements. The director would write to the agency or foundation for the details required for submission of proposals. Not all directors may not be eligible for funding. Hence, the director should check out eligibility early before proceeding. The director also should decide whether he/she and the staff are talented or competent to develop proposals.

The entreprenuer need familiarity with the typical parts of the proposal. It should be checked by the knowledgeable and frank person to eliminate any errors or unsound information or ideas. Once completed, the proposal should be professionally typed. Usually a specified number of copies is required. These should be delivered or mailed to arrive before the closing date listed. Securing of funding of a proposal can extend the resources of the center, can stimulate the staff to work harder or in new directions and may bring recognition of the centre and staff in the local or state or national child development center arena.
