Entrance areas

Entrance areas benefit from friendly, welcoming illumination as a transition from the dark outside to the brightness of the living room, to let guests and hosts see one another in a pleasant light as an introduction to the home. Diffused light from ceiling or wall fixtures, perhaps supplemented by more concentrated, sparkling light on some object of interest, makes a balanced effect.
