Angle of Twill

Fundamentals of Textile Design 3(2+1)

Lesson 13:Twill weave

Angle of Twill

Steepness indicates the strength and durability of a fabric. More steeper the angle, more of warp yarn is used than filling.

Changes in the diagonal line produces variations like herringbone, corkscrew, fancy twills etc and yarn color variations adds to the ornamentation of the weave.

Infact a designer can show her/his ability by using a twill weave as it lends to greater designing potential.
