Lesson 13:Twill weave

Characteristics of twill weave

• Very durable fabric as yarns are closely beaten and good drape quality
• Diagonal interlacings lead to greater pliability, softness, resiliency than plain weave.
• They do not dirty quickly but once dirty it is difficult to clean
• Fabrics have no up and down but a right and wrong side with the diagonal line running opposite to each other on either side
• Prints are seldom done and sheer fabrics are not generally made.
