Developing plan of work and calendar of operations

Plan of work the listing of activities by which the objectives determined are to be achieved. It provides a detailed break down showing how the extension programme is to be carried out. According to Kelsey and Hearne(1949), plan of work is “an outline procedure so arranged as to enable efficient execution of the entire programme”. It is the answer to:

  1. What
  2. When
  3. Where
  4. Why
  5. How and
  6. By whom, the work is to be done.

A well prepared plan of work will provide details about:

  1. People to be reached
  2. Goals, dates and places
  3. Teaching methods to be followed
  4. Duties, training and recognition of leaders
  5. Role played by extension personnel, project leaders and staff responsible
  6. Role played by other agencies
  7. Equipments and material needed
