Estimation of glycogen

 

Principle

  • The glycogen present in the fish tissue liver is digested with potassium hydroxide and estimated as glucose using anthrone reagent.
  • Then it is converted into glycogen content by dividing with morris factor(1.11).

     purfural + Anthrone →Green coloured compound
