  • Rostellum bears two rows of alternating large and small hooks.
  • The hooks have a characteristic shape possessing a handle, a guard and a blade (penknife shaped).
  • Larger hooks are in the anterior row.
  • The suckers are unarmed.
Mature segments
  • Segments are longer than broad.
  • The longitudinal excretory canals are well visible.
  • Testes are numerous.
  • Single bilobed ovary placed posteriorly.
  • Single vitelline gland posterior to the ovary.
  • Genital pores are either unilateral or regularly alternating or irregularly alternating.
  • Uterus is straight and tubular occupying the middle regions of the segment.
