Transportation of Ratites

TRANSPORTATION OF TATITES

  • Transportation of ratites is a serious problem. Loading and hauling the birds makes them unsettled and nervous. There is danger of birds getting hurt on small openings and sharp edges and may be injured and killed from being loaded too tightly.
  • Crowded ratites will often fight or hurt one another by pecking or stepping on each other. They may suffer from heat stress and damp weather if not cared properly during transport.
