Emu

TRANSPORTATION OF EMU

  • Transportation of emu is to be done during the darker, cooler hours of night. Even herding and capturing the birds in light is easier on everyone.
  • Hauling the emu birds during the day, in close confines is very stressful for them, and they overheat easily. During the dark hours, they will remain cooler, and will not need to be watered during the long trip. They will also settle down to sleep easier in the night.
  • Transport can be arranged in stock trailers, or in animal crates with sufficient airing. (Accurate measuring 3 ft x 3 ft x 4 ft high is ample space to haul 2 adult emus.)
