CAPILLARIASIS IN INDIAN COBRA

  • The lifecycle of the trichurid worms is indirect, involving usually earthworms and crustacean as paratemic hosts. Although these worms inhabitat the intestinal tract, it can also invade other vital organs.
  • This has also been reported from oviduct of a snake. The eggs are colour less, more barrel shaped with parallel sides and the bipolar plugs do not project as far as in the other Trichurid eggs.
