Summary

  1. The devices used to create situations in which communication can take place between the instructor and the learner is known as teaching or instruction method.
  2. In Individual method the extension agent communicates with the people individually, maintaining separate identity of each person. Examples: Farm and home visit, farmer’s call etc.
  3. In Group method the extension agent communicates with the people in groups and not as individual persons. Examples: Method demonstration, group meeting, small group training. Field day or farmer’s day and study tour.
  4. In Mass method the extension agent communicates with a vast and heterogeneous mass of people, without taking into consideration of their individual or group identity.
  5. Examples: Campaign, Exhibition, Newspaper, Radio and Television
