Lesson 10 : Group Methods

Glossary

1. Panel : An informal conversation put on for the benefits of the audience , by a small group of people

2. Symposium: Short series of lectures usually by two to five speakers each with different view points

3. Group interview: Leader interviews persons on a platform.

4. Debate: Teams of usually two or three persons discuss controversial subjects

5. Workshop: A special type of working conference of a week or of more duration

6. Seminars are short term training programmes arranged for a few days-a day or two maximum three days.

7. Conference: All the members in conference are expected to have more or less equal knowledge. It varies between two to three days, maximum of five days.

8. Buzz sessions: With large group when there is limited time for discussion, the audience may be divided into smaller units for a short period
