3.2.10.Pressure Training
A training system much used in team sports. It consists of deliberately creating intensive conditions for skill practice, much more difficult than those required in the actual game. In tennis, for example, a player may be put under pressure by being made to deal in a particular way with a much more rapid sequence of balls than would normally occur in a real game. Pressure training may improve the speed of executing skilled movements, and help performers retain the skills under the duress of competition. However, if training continues after the skill breaks down, players may have their confidence destroyed and perform less well in competition.
