It refers to the attributes or characteristics or features of any line. Every line possesses certain aspects that define its effects in different situations. There are nine aspects that are possessed by every line. Each aspect has a number of variants. These aspects of line and their variants are as follows:

These aspects of lines are introduced in garments by structural components like seams, pleats, gathers, darts, shirring, yokes, ruffles, pockets, etc. Decorative components, for example, trims like laces, bands, fasteners, strings and accessories like stole, belts, scarf, etc. can also be introduced to create effects of line. Each aspect and its variants imply different and strong physical as well as psychological effects in garments.
