Crepe yarns

Crepe yarns are made with a high number of turns per inch (40-80). Crepe is a French word, meaning crinkle. They are made with either staple or filament fiber. This high twist makes the yarn highly kinky and lively and so the twist incorporated has to be set in order to be used in weaving or knitting. These yarns find their use in fabrics like georgette and chiffon.
