Rule of Thirds

Compositional balance using the rule of thirds ratio revolves around position¬ing the main visual elements in the frame ac¬cording to a prescribed formula. The frame is divided into three parts both horizontally and vertically, and the points where the lines inter¬sect provide the golden section. A useful start¬ing point for any compositional grouping is to place the main subject of interest on anyone of the four intersections.
