Lesson 09:Indoor Scaping

Temperature

  1. Temperature is a very important factor since most indoor plants are tropical in nature and require a minimum night temperature of 18°C and day temperature 24°C.
  2. Soil temperature can be maintained at 18- 21°C.
  3. Plants are also able to tolerate a wide range of soil moisture, light intensities and temperature.
  4. The largest number of plants is adopted in areas where temperature ranges between 15°C and 30°C.
  5. During the resting period, most plants require lower temperature than during their growth period.
  6. Cool conditions are preferable for some of the popular house plants whose growing temperature requirements may be as low as 12° C-14°C.
  7. Many indoor plants thrive best in slightly lower average room temperature than those favored by many people, in the range of 15°C-18°C.
