Dry Chutney powder

Meaning: Oilseeds and pulses are roasted without oil and powdered with spices and condiments.

Consumption:

  • Chutney powders are used with oil or freshly cut vegetables like onions, cucumber and coriander leaves, sometimes eaten with curds
  • They are eaten with chapattis or rice as an adjunct.

Types: Groundnut seeds, gingely seeds, dry coconut, bengal gram, black gram dhal, roasted Bengal gram, chutneys are prepared with salt and spices.

Value addition:

  • Value addition is done to chutneys by preparing chutneysmethi leaves and other vegetables. with curry leaves,
  • It improves the nutritive value and the fiber content.

Shelf life- Stable for 6 months when packed well.
