Lesson 21: Outdoor play activities in ECE center

Preparation

1. Consider various possibilities and make prior arrangements of water necessary.
   
2. Sand should be damp, to facilitate it to form well.
   
3. In summer use some form of shade to avoid sun stroke for children.
   
4. Have items placed out before activity begins and supply as needed.

Procedure

1. Sand play needs careful supervision.
   
2. Think of additional activities when interests lag.
   
3. If the day is warm, water should be used freely..
   
4. Digging space must be adequate.
   
5. Chat with children about their activities.

Follow up

1. Get children to help you in cleaning.
   
2. Return spread sand to the sand pit.
   
3. Make children wash and wipe their hands.
