  • Hand Skills- Between 3 and 4 years, children should be able to begin cutting, pasting, scribbling, painting with fingers and throwing and catching balls. Between 4 and 6 years, children should begin modeling clay, putting together simple puzzles, drawing, painting with a brush, hammering nails into wood and knitting with a spool or large needles.
  • Leg Skills-Between 2 and 3 years, children should be able to walk side way and backward. At 3 years, they can skip and hop. By 6 they should be able to balance on a narrow board, walk in tune to music, dance, roller skate and ice-skate. Between 3 and 4, children should be able to ride a tricycle and a bicycle by 6. At 2, children should be able to learn swimming movements and at 3 or 4, they should be able to do simple swimming strokes, at 6, they should be able to dive.
