Lesson 31: Parental participation in the ECE programme

They involve the whole community. The films, television programmes, puppet shows, mock sessions, publicity campaigns, bala melas, open house exhibition, large group meetings etc comes under mass methods. These techniques help the community on a whole to realize their role and responsibilities in the smooth functioning of the ECE programme. Through the above methods, the community is encouraged to contribute in planning, building facility, equipment to maintain health and hygiene, raw vegetables and fuel for preparing nutritious diet for their children, providing transport facilities for the children to arrange a field trip, excursions etc, conducting recreational activities for the children and also accepting the responsibility of safe guarding the health of the children by providing facilities and other resources to strengthen the valuable human resources for the child.
