Intra role conflict

Inadequate role implementation sometimes results from problems of conflict in role definition or intra role conflict. The mother and the father may disagree strongly as to who is supposed to do what for and with the child. The mother may expect the father to help her care for the child, while the father may define his role more narrowly as primarily that of a provider.
