  1. Tissues of fish as sample : Gills, liver, kidney, alimentary canal, testis, every, pituitary, eyes etc.
  2. Equipments: Microtome accessories – microtome knife, sharpener, tray, dissection box, oven, water, bath, spirit lamp or burner. Slide warmer, wax, melting cups, metal L-blocks. Small brushes, slide holders, weighing balance, microscope, micrometer, labels, glass marker, distillation apparatus.
  3. Glass wares: Coplin jars, microslides, cover glasses, measuring cylinder, volumetric flasks and conical flasks, trays, beakers, pipettes, dropper’s meagents, screw cap vials etc.
  4. Chemical stains and others
    1. Narcotising and killing reagents: Amyl alcohol, ether, anaesthetics like MS – 222 etc.
    2. Fixators : An ideal fixative should
    • Penetrate rapidly
    • Kill the cell; prevent disintegration
    • Preserve physical structure of cell
    • Convert cell content into stable compound
    • Harden the materials; correct brittleness
