1.3.2.1. The piloting team

                                                                         

For safe and systematic piloting, we require several persons, each doing his small part of the overall job and organized as a group to provide the navigator with the proper information at the proper time. This group is known as piloting team.

1. Navigator with an assistant
2. One leadsman to measure the depth
3. One echo sounder operator
4. 2 or 3 bearing takers
5. One bearing recorder
6. One for communication
