Computer Graphic Generators

The computer graphics required for each production such as titles, title effects, supers and end credits are all made possible by the character generator. A character generator is basically a computer which generates text and other visual effects with the help of special titling software loaded into it. However, while this may be available as part of other non-linear editing software, it is referred to as CG when it is used for titling etc. during online productions in the production control room. The sophistication of the newer software allows for an infinite variety of options in colours, backgrounds and patterns.
