Lesson 9 : Fullness

Box pleat

Box pleats are full length, broad rectangular pleats usually all around the width of the skirt. These are made by making two equal folds and turning them away from each other, under folds meeting in the centre beneath the pleat. The pleats may be shallow or deep according to the fullness desired in the skirt and have two fold lines & placement lines. These are used quite often in school uniforms.
