Measurement barrier

It includes lack of appropriate assessment instruments & procedures. The developed existing measurement tools have limitations like:-

• Instruments developed for particular purpose only.
• Using particular/specific instruments for purposes for which they were not intended.
  Example: using screening measure to label the child intelligence test to plan instructional programme.
• The measurement tools have not undergone evaluation procedures like reliability & validity.
• Many measurements tools are weak in assessing certain skills areas like task orientation, goal directions, persistence etc.
