Rural youth clubs and women clubs

In addition to these, several voluntary agencies organized rural youth clubs and women clubs, engaged in welfare of the youth and community service organized several association to devote to physical, social, intellectual and spiritual development of young men and women. They organize a training, research and documentation in the field of youth welfare.
In order to make the youth programme more effective, the following measures are suggested.

  1. There should be a comprehensive youth policy statement of the Central and State Governments.
  2. The role of voluntary agencies for youth programmes should be clearly demarcated and they should be given assistance and support by the Government.
  3. Arrangements should be made for coordinating the various governmental activities of the youth on the one side and the voluntary agencies on the other, so that national youth programme emerges clearly.
  4. There should be more intensive programmes of training and orientation of youth workers.
  5. Arrangements may also be made to not only utilize the spare time of the youth for national reconstruction programmes but the youth organizations should be promoted.
  6. Research projects should be undertaken into the problems of the youth and evaluation of the existing youth programmes from time to time.
  7. There should be arrangements for providing information to the youth about the various programmes of youth welfare which exist in this country and the manner in which the youth can make use of these programmes.
