Disadvantages

• Roof gardening has some disadvantages also. The quantity of growing media is much less here.
• Hence, the supply of moisture and nutrients to the plants is limited.
• Shallow depth of soil results in poor root anchorage subjecting the plants to lodging, specially by wind. The velocity of which is greater on an open roof.
