Rock Garden

  • A rock garden is an artificial arrangement of rocks and soil in such manner that certain ornamental plants besides natural growing coloured moss, lichens, etc. can be planted for their beautification.

  • Mountains in the nature have special place. Rock garden is one way of enjoying a mountain range close at hand in miniature form.
  • Besides, in a garden with plain topography, rock garden enhances beauty by creating a contrasting feature.
  • It breaks the monotony of a level ground.
  • Hence rock garden is an important feature of the garden. The real rock garden is one which mimics a mountain range.
  • This is constructed in an open sunny situation.
